1. About the Journal
Al-Furat Journal of Innovations in Mechanical and Sustainable Energy Engineering (FJIMSE) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by the Najaf Technical Institute, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Iraq. The journal provides a platform for researchers, academics, and industry professionals to publish original research articles, review papers, and technical notes in the fields of mechanical engineering, renewable energy, and sustainable technologies.
Aim and Scope
FJIMSE aims to promote high-quality research that addresses current challenges and innovative solutions in mechanical systems, thermofluids, renewable energy applications, sustainable manufacturing, and energy management. The journal welcomes multidisciplinary studies that integrate engineering principles with sustainability concepts.
Publication Frequency
The journal publishes four issues per year (March, June, September, and December) to ensure timely dissemination of research findings.
Indexing and Archiving
All published articles are assigned a DOI through CrossRef and are archived in LOCKSS to ensure permanent accessibility. The journal is committed to expanding its presence in international indexing databases such as DOAJ, Scopus, and Web of Science.
Peer Review Policy
FJIMSE employs a double-blind peer review process to maintain objectivity and ensure that all submissions are evaluated solely based on their scientific merit. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field.
Open Access Policy
All articles are freely available online under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
2. Ethics & Publishing Policies
FJIMSE is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. All parties involved in the publication process (editors, authors, and reviewers) must adhere to the following ethical principles:
1. Duties of Authors
* Submit original work free from plagiarism, falsification, or fabrication of data.
* Properly cite all sources and contributions of others.
* Disclose any conflicts of interest.
* Ensure that all authors have significantly contributed to the research and approved the final manuscript.
2. Duties of Reviewers
* Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.
* Maintain confidentiality of the review process.
* Declare any conflicts of interest that may bias their review.
3. Duties of Editors
* Make fair and unbiased publication decisions.
* Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
* Ensure that the peer-review process is rigorous and impartial.
4. Plagiarism Policy
All submissions are screened for plagiarism using reliable detection software (e.g., iThenticate). Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% (excluding references) are rejected or returned to authors for revision.
5. Data Sharing and Reproducibility
Authors are encouraged to provide datasets, software codes, and experimental details to promote transparency and reproducibility of results.
6. AI Use Policy
Authors must disclose any use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) in writing or editing their manuscripts, specifying the extent of usage. AI cannot be listed as an author.
7. Retraction and Correction Policy
Articles found to violate ethical standards will be retracted, with a statement of reasons published on the journal’s website.
